Saturday Therapy for Kids and Families in Carrboro, NC: A Space Where Everyone Can Heal

Finding the right therapist for your child or family is hard enough. Finding one who has Saturday appointments in Carrboro, NC can feel nearly impossible. At Caine Therapy & Consulting, I offer in-person Saturday sessions specifically for families who need flexible scheduling that works around school, work, and the realities of busy life. Because your family’s healing should not have to wait until someone can take a day off.

Why Saturday Therapy Works for Families

For most families, weekday therapy appointments create real logistical challenges. Children miss school. Parents miss work. Everyone arrives stressed before the session even begins. Saturday therapy removes those barriers entirely. Your child comes in rested and unhurried. You arrive without the pressure of a workday looming on either side. The session can do what it is meant to do — create space for real connection, real conversation, and real change.

At Caine Therapy & Consulting, Saturday in-person sessions are available at my office at 517 S Greensboro Street in Carrboro, NC 27510, conveniently located for families throughout the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, and surrounding Triangle area.

How I Work with Children

I specialize in working with children ages three and up. Whether your child is struggling with big emotions, difficult behaviors, anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, or simply a season of life that has knocked them off balance, I meet them exactly where they are. My approach is warm, direct, and child-centered, using language and methods that make sense to young people at every developmental stage.

I use evidence-based approaches including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), EMDR, and Brainspotting, all of which are specifically adapted for children and adolescents. These are not one-size-fits-all approaches. Each child’s treatment is tailored to their unique history, needs, and strengths.

How I Work with Families

Children do not heal in isolation. They heal in relationship, and the most important relationships in a child’s life are the ones at home. That is why I actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process. When a caregiver understands what their child is experiencing and has the tools to respond with connection rather than reaction, everything changes — at home, at school, and in the relationship between parent and child.

Family involvement looks different depending on the child’s age, the treatment approach, and what each family needs. Some parents attend sessions alongside their child. Others meet with me separately to build their own skills and understanding. In every case, the family is seen as a partner in the work, not a bystander.

What to Expect at Caine Therapy

From the very first session, my goal is to create a space where your child feels safe enough to be honest, curious enough to engage, and hopeful enough to keep showing up. I take the time to really understand each child and family before jumping into any therapeutic work. Trust is built before anything else.

I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Aetna including the NC State Health Plan, Trillium, Partners, Carolina Complete Health, and Vaya Health Medicaid. Superbills and cash pay are also available. Learn more about mental health benefits for families at the SAMHSA National Helpline.
