Hello, I am Brooke.
Some people find their way to working with children. I never had to look for it. I started babysitting at twelve, was a nanny all through college, and became a foster mother after graduation. Some of those children still find me during the holidays. That is not something I take lightly.
I am the oldest child in my family, which means I learned early how to hold space for others, how to lead with both firmness and care, and how to make someone feel safe without making them feel small. I bring all of that into the therapy room.
If your child is struggling and you are not sure who to trust with them, I want you to know this, I have been showing up for children my entire life. It is not just what I do. It is who I am.
Education & Training
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University, building on my educational background that includes a bachelor's degree in accounting from Meredith College and a Master's in Trust & Wealth Management from Campbell University. My diverse professional journey allows me to bring both structure and empathy into the therapeutic process.
As a proud North Carolina native, yes, "y'all" is definitely part of my vocabulary! When I am not in the therapy room, you can find me spending time with my extended family, planning girls' trips with friends, cooking, or enjoying a good murder mystery.

EMDR Training
I have completed professional training under EMDRIA-approved consultants at Mosaic Training Institute. This training was conducted in accordance with EMDRIA standards and clinical best practices. My consultation and supervision experience included structured learning, case review, and competency development to ensure adherence to ethical and professional guidelines.
TF-CBT Training
I have completed Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training under consultants affiliated with the Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy National Therapist Certification Program. My consultation and advanced training were conducted through Alicia's Place in accordance with nationally recognized TF-CBT standards.
Brainspotting Training
I have completed Brainspotting certification under the guidance of Linnea Swanson, an approved Brainspotting Trainer and Consultant listed with the official Brainspotting training directory. My training followed the standards set by the Brainspotting certification process.
Caine Therapy & Consulting is named in honor of my grandparents, James Luther and Blanche Darnell Glover Caine, farmers in Tarboro, North Carolina. Their legacy of preparation, planting, nurturing, and harvesting inspires the meaningful work we will do together.
